SupaKustoms started as a simple way for me to make a little extra money back in high school. One day, I asked my dad how I could earn some pocket cash, and he introduced me to the world of sneaker customization after watching some videos on YouTube. Being an artistic kid, it felt natural to combine my creativity with something I could make lucrative.
At first, it wasn’t called “SupaKustoms”—it was just me experimenting and figuring things out. I researched the best paints, learned how to prep leather, and discovered techniques to make designs durable. My journey began with my own shoes, and as you can see from the photos—it was rough at the start. But I kept at it. With practice and persistence, my work improved, and soon classmates started noticing. Before I knew it, I was getting orders, and my unofficial business was off to a great start. Shout out to Nagi Moore for being my first customer. His Pumas are the ones pictured.
Eventually, life caught up with me. School and other interests took priority, and I slowed down on custom work. But even when I wasn’t painting, the passion to create never left me.
Now, SupaKustoms is more than just a side hustle—it’s a vision. My long-term hope is to inspire artists everywhere to keep creating, no matter where they are on their journey. In the future, I plan to host workshops to teach others the art of customization and to create a space where custom artists can create and showcase their work. SupaKustoms isn’t just about shoes—it’s about community, creativity, and leaving a lasting mark in the world of art.
